About Thermage tips

Thermage tips are single-use monopolar RF treatment tips designed for use with the Solta Medical Thermage CPT and Thermage FLX systems. Unlike RF microneedling tips, Thermage tips deliver radiofrequency energy across a flat treatment surface in contact with the skin, with no needles involved. According to Precedence Research, the global non-surgical skin tightening market reached USD 3.24 billion in 2024, with RF-based platforms — Thermage among them — accounting for roughly 30% of category share. For clinics standardized on Thermage, treatment-tip supply is the rate-limiting input for treatment scheduling.

What's included in this collection

The collection covers five Thermage treatment tips across two device generations. Three tips serve the earlier Thermage CPT (Comfort Pulse Technology) platform, including face, eye, and body sizes. Two tips serve the current Thermage FLX platform, including the AccuREP-enabled Total Tip variants used in faster FLX protocols. Each tip has fixed treatment-area dimensions and a fixed pulse count, matched to the Thermage system generation it was designed for.

Compatibility

Thermage tips are generation-specific. CPT tips are designed for use with Thermage CPT systems; FLX tips are designed for use with Thermage FLX systems. The two generations are not interchangeable, even though they share the Thermage platform brand. Each product page in the collection lists the exact tip size in cm² and the rated system generation. For collection-level browsing, see our dedicated Thermage CPT tips and Thermage FLX tips sub-collections. Compatibility data reflects standard clinical use and supplier specifications; verify against your specific Thermage system generation before ordering.

Thermage CPT vs FLX comparison

The two Thermage platform generations differ in pulse delivery and treatment efficiency.

Generation Tips in collection Key platform feature Best for
Thermage CPT 3 sizes (face, eye, body) Comfort Pulse Technology vibration with cooling Clinics with installed CPT base, full range of facial and body treatments
Thermage FLX 2 sizes including Total Tip AccuREP impedance matching, faster treatment time Current-generation Thermage systems running shorter protocols

How to choose Thermage tips

Selection comes down to three things, in order:

  • System generation: Confirm whether your console is CPT or FLX. The Total Tip 4.0 cm² for FLX will not run on a CPT generator, and CPT tips do not align with the FLX impedance handshake. Cross-substitution is not an option.
  • Treatment area: Face tips, eye tips, and body tips differ in cm² and pulse count. Match the tip to the protocol — body work needs a larger tip and more pulses than periorbital work.
  • Pulse budget: Each tip has a finite pulse count printed on the cartridge. High-volume clinics should stock at least two of the most-used size to avoid mid-protocol replacements.

For clinics weighing Thermage against RF microneedling for non-surgical skin tightening, the technologies are clinically distinct — Thermage uses bulk monopolar RF without needles, while RF microneedling combines fractional RF with mechanical perforation. See our RF microneedling tips collection for the alternative category.

Frequently asked questions

Are these genuine Solta Medical Thermage tips?

Genuine/original status is verified per SKU and shown on each product page. All Thermage tips Pinova sells are professionally sourced consumables, with packaging condition, expiration date, and lot code visible before checkout. Where a product is OEM-style rather than Solta-original, this is clearly indicated on the product page.

What's the difference between Thermage CPT and FLX tips?

CPT tips are designed for use with the earlier Thermage CPT (Comfort Pulse Technology) system. FLX tips are designed for use with the current Thermage FLX system, which adds AccuREP impedance matching for faster treatments. The two are not cross-compatible despite sharing the Thermage brand.

Can I use a CPT tip on a Thermage FLX system or vice versa?

No. The CPT and FLX systems use different cartridge handshakes and impedance protocols. A CPT tip will not activate correctly on an FLX console, and an FLX Total Tip will not seat or run on a CPT system. Match the tip to your specific generation.

What tip sizes are available across this collection?

The collection covers three CPT sizes — typically a face tip, an eye tip, and a larger body tip — and two FLX sizes, including the AccuREP-enabled Total Tip 4.0 cm² used for standard facial FLX protocols. Exact cm² values are listed on each product page.
