HIFU Cartridges & Transducers
HIFU cartridges are single-use micro-focused ultrasound transducers used by aesthetic clinics for non-invasive skin tightening and lift-focused protocols. Pinova currently carries three Ulthera transducer configurations covering different DeepSEE imaging depths from superficial dermis to the SMAS layer. Every cartridge ships from our US warehouse, with the manufacturer expiration date shown on each product page before purchase, and international shipping is available on request.
About HIFU cartridges
HIFU cartridges are single-use transducers that deliver high-intensity focused ultrasound energy to specific dermal depths, used for non-invasive skin tightening and lift-focused aesthetic protocols. Each transducer is depth-rated, so a typical full-face HIFU protocol uses two or three different cartridge depths in sequence. According to Precedence Research, the global non-surgical skin tightening market reached USD 3.24 billion in 2024, with HIFU identified as the fastest-growing segment within the category. For clinics offering HIFU protocols, transducer supply is the rate-limiting input — a missing depth cancels the procedure.
What's included in this collection
This umbrella collection currently covers HIFU transducer consumables for the Merz Aesthetics Ulthera and Ultherapy platforms. The Ulthera sub-collection includes three DeepSEE transducer depths matched to standard Ultherapy facial and body protocols. Coverage will expand as additional HIFU brands enter the catalog; for now, browse the dedicated Ulthera and Ultherapy transducers page for brand-specific variants.
Compatibility
HIFU cartridges are brand- and depth-specific. Ulthera DeepSEE transducers are designed for use with Merz Ultherapy systems including Ultherapy PRIME; they will not function on non-Ulthera HIFU platforms. Within Ulthera, transducers are also depth-specific — a 4.5 mm transducer cannot substitute for a 3.0 mm or 1.5 mm in protocol delivery. Each product page lists the exact focal depth and rated system generation. Compatibility data reflects standard clinical use and supplier specifications; verify against your specific device generation before ordering.
How HIFU compares to RF-based skin tightening
HIFU and RF address overlapping aesthetic goals through different physics:
- Energy mechanism: HIFU uses focused ultrasound waves to create thermal coagulation at a precise depth. RF (monopolar bulk RF like Thermage, or fractional RF microneedling) uses electrical current to heat tissue.
- Imaging: Ulthera HIFU transducers integrate real-time DeepSEE imaging so the practitioner can see the target plane before energy is applied. RF platforms generally do not include imaging.
- Treatment planning: HIFU protocols typically use two or three different focal depths per session, requiring inventory across the depth range.
For clinics weighing HIFU against RF alternatives, our RF microneedling tips collection covers the needle-based RF category.
Why buy from Pinova
Every HIFU cartridge in this collection is professionally sourced and ships in its original sealed packaging. The expiration date and lot code are listed on each product page before checkout, so both can be verified before ordering. Orders placed before 2 PM EST typically ship the same business day from our US warehouse, with international shipping available on request.
Frequently asked questions
What does HIFU stand for and how is it different from RF?
HIFU stands for high-intensity focused ultrasound. It uses focused sound waves to create thermal effects at a specific tissue depth, with no needles and no electrical current. RF technologies use electrical energy instead — either through a flat surface tip (monopolar bulk RF) or through fractional micro-needles (RF microneedling).
Which HIFU brands do you currently carry consumables for?
Currently the collection covers Merz Aesthetics Ulthera and Ultherapy systems, including the Ultherapy PRIME platform. As additional HIFU brands enter inventory, they will be added to this umbrella collection. See the brand-specific page for full variant detail.
How many treatment lines does one HIFU transducer deliver?
Each transducer has a finite, depth-specific treatment line count printed on the cartridge and listed on the product page. Once the cartridge reaches its line limit it must be replaced. Plan inventory around scheduled procedure volume rather than ordering ad hoc.
Are transducers from one HIFU brand compatible with another HIFU device?
No. HIFU transducers are brand- and platform-specific. Ulthera transducers fit only Merz Ulthera and Ultherapy systems. Other HIFU devices, when they enter the catalog, will require their own dedicated consumables.
