Clinical Best Practices for RF Microneedling Treatments

RF microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for skin tightening, collagen stimulation, and overall skin rejuvenation. However, achieving optimal results depends not only on the device itself, but also on proper technique, treatment protocol, and the quality of the Vivace RF cartridges (tips) used.

Below are clear, professional answers to the most commonly searched questions related to Vivace RF microneedling.

How to get the best results from RF microneedling?

To achieve optimal outcomes with RF microneedling using Vivace RF tips, the following principles are essential.

Use high-quality Vivace RF tips

The cartridge is the core component of RF microneedling treatment. High-quality Vivace RF tips ensure consistent needle penetration and even RF energy delivery, which leads to:

• Stronger skin tightening

• Higher collagen and elastin stimulation

• Reduced discomfort during treatment

Poor-quality cartridges may result in uneven energy delivery, suboptimal outcomes, and unnecessary patient discomfort.

Select the appropriate needle depth

Customizing needle depth according to the treatment area is critical for achieving safe and effective results:

• Face: shallow to medium depth

• Jawline and neck: medium depth

• Deep acne scars or severe texture concerns: deeper penetration, adjusted gradually

Proper depth selection maximizes results while minimizing trauma to the skin.

Adjust RF energy carefully

Using higher RF energy does not automatically produce better results. Best practice includes:

• Starting with moderate RF energy

• Monitoring skin response during treatment

• Increasing energy gradually only when necessary

Controlled RF delivery promotes collagen remodeling without excessive inflammation.

Follow the correct treatment schedule

RF microneedling results are cumulative. The recommended protocol is:

• 3 to 4 treatment sessions

• Spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart

Visible improvement typically becomes more noticeable after the second or third session.

What not to do before Vivace RF microneedling?

Proper preparation before a Vivace RF session is essential. The following should be avoided:

Avoid sun exposure

Direct sun exposure before treatment increases the risk of:

• Skin irritation

• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Patients should avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure prior to treatment.

Avoid strong exfoliants and retinoids

Three to five days before treatment, patients should discontinue:

• Retinoids (retinol, tretinoin)

• Chemical exfoliants and acids

This reduces skin sensitivity and lowers the risk of irritation.

Do not treat inflamed or compromised skin

Active conditions such as:

• Skin infections

• Open wounds

• Inflamed acne

may negatively affect treatment safety and outcomes and should be addressed before RF microneedling.

Do you tip for RF microneedling?

This is a common question in many regions.

RF microneedling is considered a professional medical or aesthetic procedure. Tipping is not required or expected.

The treatment fee already includes:

• Use of the device

Any gratuity is optional and depends solely on the clinic’s policy and local customs.

Following these guidelines supports proper healing and enhances treatment outcomes.

Does the quality of the Vivace RF cartridge affect results?

Yes, directly and significantly.

High-quality Vivace RF tips provide:

• Protection of the device handpiece from damage

The cartridge quality has a direct impact on both clinical results and device longevity.

Conclusion

Achieving the best results from Vivace RF microneedling requires:
